Postdoctoral Associate (2)

Full-Time in  Millbrook, NY –  Scientific

POSITION:  Recruiting two Postdoctoral Associates to work on synthetic analyses for the the Baltimore Long Term Ecological Research project.  We seek postdoctoral researchers interested in synthesis of long-term urban ecological and social science data collected over the past 20 years.  Postdoctoral Associates will be based at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY.

Postdoc will participate in synthesis of ecological and social data to investigate long-term patterns in urban ecology of Baltimore.  For example, a research project may include the examination of how long-term watershed nutrient cycling is linked to changes in the urban forest or people’s perception of environmental condition. Preferred candidates will have expertise in ecosystem science, hydrology and biogeochemistry of urban ecosystems and quantitative synthesis. Expertise in GIS and/or Bayesian modeling would also be desirable and an interest in linking socio-ecological research areas is a must.

Finalist candidates must successfully complete a background check.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

This is an exempt, full-time, benefited position.

DURATION:  Full-time. One year position with possible extension.

BACKGROUND:  Ph.D. in Ecology, Environmental Science and/or Ecological Synthesis. Competence in hydrology, biogeochemistry, GIS or modeling is highly desirable.
